It is rare to find a place that treats a first-time visitor like an old friend, but that was exactly my experience at Music Direct. After years of pouring over their catalogs, I finally made the trip to their Chicago location. Despite showing up without an appointment, I was treated to a full tour of their incredible facility. I spent a good deal of time talking with Rob, and honestly, it felt like catching up with someone I’d known for years. We connected instantly over the gear and the music; his passion and knowledge are exactly what this industry needs more of. What they offer: Expert Curation: A massive selection of high-end equipment and audiophile-grade music. Unrivaled Service: Genuine hospitality that focuses on the experience, not just the sale. Legacy Knowledge: They are keepers of the flame for high-fidelity sound in an era where such places are vanishing. My only regret is all the money I’ve spent elsewhere over the years. For someone who truly values sound quality and the engineering behind great audio, what Music Direct does is vital. They provide a level of expertise and "white-glove" care that you simply cannot find online or at big-box retailers. If you ar

Contacted Music Direct with questions about the best way to upgrade the streamer in my system. Spent time talking to Besflores about options for the upgrade. As I talked about components that I already had, he knew more about the technical aspects of things already in my system than I did. I went with his recommendation (Eversolo T8) and couldn’t be happier. Time to stop pouring through the forums and getting opinions from people with no background. Music Direct has a great selection of quality gear and they are very knowledgeable. Besflores has decades of experience and blew me away.

I bought a phono preamp from them, it was ready for pickup promptly, and the pickup process was painless. The price was reasonable. I would definitely do business with them again for my future audio needs.

For the first half of 2022, I was able to put together my dream stereo system. Like other industries, there were significant supply chain issues in audio, so I had to work with multiple vendors, including Magnolia and Listen Up (ughhh... we won't go there). I had the amazing fortune of working with Jon Schulman, who helped me SIGNIFICANTLY... not only in obtaining some key components of the system, but in helping design its architecture. Music Direct / Jon helped in particular with the VPI Signature turntable, Shunyata Everest power conditioner + power cables, and Audioquest signal cables and speaker cables, and a few other things. The amazing thing is that MD has the capability to deal with esoteric audio like they do, but still do volume business at great prices. The system ended up as: McIntosh MX123 A/V PROCESSOR McIntosh C12000 Preamp Dual McIntosh MC611 Amps McIntosh MC255 Amp iFi - Pro iDSD Signature DAC NAD M50.2 Media Player B&W 801 D4 B&W HTM81 D4 center B&W 805 D4 rears REL Carbon Special Subwoofer REL Airship 5.8 gHz VPI - Signature 21 Turntable (Black) SONY XR83A90J OLED 4K HDR TV Shunyata Everest 8000 Power Conditioner
